What Works: Programs and Interventions that May Influence Parental Warmth and Affection Child Trends has developed several What Works series based on rigorously studied programs and interventions to identify what works, what doesn't work and what are some "best bets" (or promising practices). Two series for youth (What Works: American Teens and What Works: Programs for Teens) and one series for young children (What Works: School Readiness) have been developed. The related tables available from each series are listed below: What Works: Programs for Teens (by program approach) Mentoring Programs --Programs that May Influence Family Relationships Older Youth Programs --Programs that May Influence Teen Parent-Child Closeness --Programs that May Influence Parenting Skills of Teens What Works: School Readiness (by outcomes for teens) --Home Environment
