How to print attractive copies of indicator text, tables, and figures
HTML and GIF files are wonderful for internet presentation but do not always print attractive hardcopy. For that reason we also provide a PDF file for each indicator containing all text, tables, and figures. These files are formatted to produce hardcopy that is attractive and easily read. The PDF files can be accessed through a link at the upper right-hand corner of the page for each indicator.

How to download figures for inclusion in reports and PowerPoint presentations

  • Click Insert then choose Picture then choose From File
  • Locate the file where you saved the figure in step 1
  • Select the figure and click insert
How to download tables into an Excel spreadsheet for further analysis
Microsoft Explorer recommended for this procedure

To download tables into an Excel spreadsheet:

  • Click on Table link

  • If words or numbers are cut off, expand the row or column until they appear

How to make the print larger
This Web site is designed to be optimal for monitors set at 800 x 600 resolution. If the text on the site appears to be too small to read comfortably, your monitor is probably set at a higher resolution. We suggest that users with this problem change their resolution to 800 x 600. In a Windows environment this can be done by clicking on "My Computer", then "Control Panel", then "Display", then "Settings", where you can make the necessary change.

Some links to other sites take a long time to establish
In some cases, the Child Trends DataBank links to large PDF files at other sites that may take a long time to download. We have taken steps to minimize the number of occasions where this happens, but in certain circumstances it cannot be avoided. We apologize for any inconvenience to the user, and will continue to work to minimize this problem.
